I'm coming to Washington from out of town. What are the closest airport and train station?
- The closest airport is Washington Reagan National (DCA), about a 20-minute taxi ride or Metro ride to downtown Washington, DC.
- Dulles Airport (IAD) and Thurgood Marshall Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) each are a 45-minute ride to central Washington, DC via taxi or bus.
- Union Station, serving Amtrak, Virginia's VRE and Maryland's MARC trains, is the closest train station.
- A Metro Red Line station is housed within Union Station, and a Blue Line station is housed within Washington Reagan National Airport. Both offer direct routes to the meeting venue.
What about lodging?
Participants must provide their own accommodations. The official Washington, DC, tourism site has information on specials, hotel deals and area attractions.
The Washington Marriott Metro Center is the closest hotel to the workshop venue, directly across the street.
Are the workshops Metro accessible?
All DGC workshops are within a short walk from public transportation. Go to the Metro web site to plan your ride.
What is the payment policy?
Payment must be made in full prior to beginning the workshop, course or event. No on-site registration or payment will be available. Please follow the link to the workshop website to learn the registration deadline.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be received via email to eloquentwomanATgmailDOTcom no later than 21 business days (Monday-Friday) prior to the workshop start.
Can I get a refund if I cancel my registration?
Cancellations that meet the cancellation policy and deadlines noted above qualify for a registration fee refund, minus an administrative fee equal to 10 percent of the total registration fee. No cancellations will be accepted nor refunds issued after the cancellation deadline.
Registrants who do not comply with the cancellation policy will forfeit all registration fees. In the unlikely event that the workshop is canceled, don't get caught--creative communications consulting is not responsible for refunding travel fees and other expenses incurred by participants.
Some participants wait until the last moment to register. We don't encourage this, and on occasion, will close registration and cancel a workshop if a sufficient number of participants are not registered by a certain date. If you want to be sure to be present, register now.
What is the substitution policy?
Registrant may request a transfer a registration to another person within the same organization or company; this may occur only once. All requests to transfer a registration must be received in writing at eloquentwomanATgmailDOTcom no fewer than five business days prior to the workshop.
Is there any preparation required for any of the programs prior to attending?
For the workshops on creating TED-quality talks, it is useful to come to the workshop with ideas about what you would like to speak about in your talk. You do not need to prepare a talk or presentation in advance of the workshop.
Will I receive an information package via mail prior to attending?
You will receive all the materials you need at the workshop or subsequent to it. There will be no information sent by mail or email in advance.
